Amazing Lyricist, Producer, established Indie Artist |
BIOGRAPHY
I started making rap songs and beats in 1997, in my basement. I went to college and recorded my first demo "Hate Me" in Kansas City, on Protracks-I gave away about 200 hundred copies and recieved great feedback. In 2003, I recorded my debut-underground album "Falling Down", 14 tracks and I made all of the beats myself. This album was lyrically powerful and cutting edge, as far as hip-hop is concerned. I gave away about 500 copies and recieved more positive feedback, but nobody had connections to the industry. When I graduated college, I met DJ Whitey in Nashville and we produced my second LP "Backaround". This time I had a beat man, and a producer and this album created a buzz in Nashville last year. Such songs as Real Motherfuckers and Running Man were commercial quality, and Real Mfrs made a compilation album for CONCRETE magazine with the likes of Mystikal, Slim Thug and Haystack. I am caught between a professional career and loving music. I knew nothing of Eminem or the other white rappers when I started, I could not tell you why I started rapping, but I will tell you that my lyrics are hard to match, and I write more songs everyday. I would describe myself like Kanye West...with a degree, both creatively and lyrically. In May of 2006, I finished the Last Great Demo at my home studio. I tought myself Cubase/Nuendo recording program and produced the remainder of my album.....I will say that it was a challenge to learn, record, produce, and master all of my own stuff....great learning experiance. Take a listen, and if you can work with me, I would be more than happy to speak with you-JB
